Observing the changes taking place in education after the transition of Ukraine to the Bologna system in 2005, there are many discussions in scientific circles about the expediency of such reforms. The new parameters of higher education, developed within the European educational space, offer a single model, as a result of which a rapid reorganization of higher education is taking place. The problem of the integration of education includes the inconsistency of traditional methods of education and innovative standards of the Bologna system, which is supplemented by economic, political and socio-cultural differences.
In Ukraine, the promotion of cultural traditions and the historical value of works of art is drastically losing its quality. The question of reviving one's own identity and raising a highly educated generation of artists who maintain a progressive academic education is acute. In this connection, contradictions arise between the requirements of the Bologna and national education systems regarding the need to preserve their features.
One of the most controversial issues is the preservation of academic art education within the framework of the Bologna process, as a different concept in the education system. The authors formulate the main points of opposition to the unification of education and the necessary methods of existence of the academic system. Through the analysis of what is happening, possible methods of maintaining the balance between traditional values and modern challenges of reforming higher education are considered, which require a flexible approach to the integration of best practices while preserving the main cultural features of higher education.
The problem of the need for constant monitoring of market demand and social obligations to preserve the own resource of able-bodied people and stop the outflow of young scientists from the territory of the country is raised.
Based on the experience of the Department of Fine Arts of AHI ODABA, which is trying to maintain an academic school despite political and economic challenges, the curriculum of the educational program is analyzed as an example of a balanced approach and adaptation to new requirements.
